....have to install a bullet button on a complete lower assembly before sending it to a Cal FFL?

I am planning or purchasing a complete LMT lower assembly and need to know if I must have the FFL in Kentucky install the bullet button before he sends it to my local FFL. I'd prefer not as I'd like it to be shipped NIB and have my FFL install the BB.

Thanks for any clarification on the issue!

I suspect the question has been asked before but I could not find the answer thru the search funtion.

No, you could be using it for a rimfire build where the BB is not needed.

While it isn't necessary to ship a completed lower in with a BB or similar mag locking device, many of my customers feel like they are on a little more stable ground (legalwise) with one installed. On a complete rifle, there's no question but on just a completed lower, no...not required.

The real question is what does your FFL who will be handling the transfer feel?

Some FFL's have no problem with it and will install the BB for you, or will transfer it to you as-is, some want to have it come in with a BB.

But legally speaking? No need for a BB on a lower, even an assembled one with a buttstock.
