For those interested, there is a sporting goods store selling bulk Federal XM193 5.56 55gr. FMJ for the following:

Boxed 500 round cases = $199
1000 round loose packed cases= $389

He will ship to CA for $35 flat fee FedEx Ground. I ordered 1K today.

You have to call no web ordering but you can see the add on their web site as of today (3/27). I asked how his supply was and he said "it is going fast".

I found them on AR15.com

Apollo you liar.

ETA: What's it mean when it's packed loose? I take it that it's not in the 20 round cardboard boxes (25 total) for a total of 500?

packed lose would be 1000 rounds inside a plastic bag type thing. 1000 rounds in bulk inside a bag are 389. 500 rounds boxed up are 199.

Sprauges is an awesome gun shop, very friendly people. My dad had been looking for an XDM 40, and EVERY gun shop in AZ is out and acts like they just can't get any of these guns.. well, Sprauges had numerous in stock. I'm thinkin bout picking up the xdm 9mm.

Actually I prefer it packed loose, save me from having to open 50 boxes and throw away all the garbage

Do you guys have to pay sales tax on this stuff since you are ordering over the phone? If so, I would think about making a drive out there, but if not, probably just cheaper to have it shipped.. assuming they have any left.

Did they say it was loose packed? I assume by the picture it is all in boxes.

Just curious.

It's kind of a good deal when you buy the 1000, works out to $8.48 per 20 rounds, after adding $35 shipping. At 500 rounds, it works out to be $9.40 per 20 rounds. At Cabelas you can order the 800 round American Eagle XM193 in a ammo can which converts to 8.98 per 20, in retail packaging. It takes about 2 weeks to get it from Cabelas.

They are out of XM193 .... but they still have American Eagle for 389 per 1000 = 424 per 1000 shipped to CA . Just ordered a case by phone . Nice fellows .
