Picked up my 29-5 at High Bridge Arms this morning; as it turns out it did indeed come with the matching box+papers, but I haven't had a chance to photograph those -- I spent this morning detail-cleaning the gun as it turns out there was a little bit of surface rust on the side of the backstrap (0000 steel wool +CLP cleaned that up) and leather holster residue in the grooves on the top strap. Turns out there is some honest holster wear on the muzzle (right side) that I totally missed when I bought the gun. Adds to the character, is all :) This gun wasn't shot much, ever. Looks like it was holstered quite bit though.

Here she is with the stock Hogue grips with medallions:

Here is the cat "helping" me stage the gun:

Anyway - I also got my new Retro Combats from Kim Ahrends. These are freaking AWESOME grips. The take several styling cues from the old S&W combats -- especially the speedloader relief; they are as functional as they are good-looking! Very comfortable.

I bought a two pairs: round butt (Cocobolo) and round-to-square conversion (in Moradillo).

The checkered grips are Nills.
