Is there such a thing as a DA/SA 220 that also has a thumb safety? I can't find anything on their site that hints that such a gun is built. It looks like the only one that has a thumb safety is the SAO, which makes perfect sense.

Have they in the past every build one like this?

Thanks in advance.....

I believe the SAO is the only Sig P220 variant with the thumb safety.

If you're looking for a nice alternative (but with a larger grip) check out the CZ 97B, an excellent .45 DA/SA with thumb safety.

As far as I know the only da/sa Sig that also has a safety is the Mosquito, and I tend to think they only stuck that on there for training purposes.

There are also a few SP2022's out there with slide mounted safeties. Special run for some LEO dept somewhere...

But no, SIG hasn't manufactured a P220 DA/SA with a safety.
