"socal" is a big area. Anything more specific? County or city.

Since I know where you're from already... try Will O'Hara in Corona, he does excellent work. Or go to King's Gunsmith.

'Hey' from Azine btw ;)

I haven't used him for any real work but the Smith at Evans in Orange bailed me out a few monthsago. Real nice guy. . Only the gunsmith.

James Hoag in Canoga Park did a good job on my Kimber.

Gussler's in Santee, He works out of his garage. He's a little slow, but that's only because the FFL part of his business gets in the way of his gunsmithing.

They have two certified armorers at California Police Equipment (619) 280-1199) who can do that easily and for a reasonable price.

Ditto on Jim Hoag in canoga park. He made my kimber work like a swiss watch and dialed my delta gold cup in..

Alan Tanaka in the Torrance/Gardena area has a great reputation for 1911s.

He hasn't done any 1911 work for me, but he did remove the mag disconnect on a Hi-Power I had.

+1 on Gussler

I would not go to American Shooting Center though, they improperly staked a front sight which later popped off

Alan Tanaka. Google him to find his info. I had him replace sights on a Springfield 1911 and a Sig 220 while I waited in his shop. He's in Gardena. Call ahead of time though to see if you can just drop in.
