...and move to AZ a few months later... would I have to go through any legal channels so as not to violate "interstate commerce"? Long gun, by the way.

No. You own the firearm.

No other State has a DROS, so there is nothing to do.

Besides I think 3 or 4 other States(Hawaii,Massachusetts,New Jersey and New York)I don't think any other State requires gun registration. The only paperwork you fill out when you buy the gun is the Federal Form, the State never actually gets informed you purchased a firearm.

I assumed in my post above the OP was going to buy or go through a dealer in California then moved to AZ.

That's how I read it.

He was going to buy a gun here then move to Arizona at a later time. I think he wanted to make sure he wouldn't have any problems with registration in Arizona. Like many people here in California, he probably isn't aware that in "other states" , buying a gun isn't a huge complicated regulated process.

Yes that was what I was planning, to buy a gun here in CA, and then take it to AZ when I move. I currently live in LA.

I see that the concept of freedom surprises you, you must be used to living here in California :D

its legal, but if you're moving to AZ, just save the money and get some silencers

Personally, if it wasn't something I needed or wanted right now, I'd save the money for when I actually moved.
I'd keep putting money towards it and buy something a little nicer or use the extra money for ammo.

Yup. It'll be cheaper in AZ.

I can tell you for certain if you were coming from almost any other state to CA after having bought guns and CCW'd there, you would probably punch holes in the walls upon hearing of what you have to do here.
