OK...I'm looking for a .45 acp pistol in the $500-$600 range. I found a pretty good deal on an XD....and I like it (I was pretty close to picking it up) but I didn't want to rush into it. What I would really like is a nice, shiny stainless steel pistol (not a big fan of the plastic stuff...which is why I didn't decide on the XD).

Other than that, I'm VERY open to pretty much ANYTHING you guys suggest (revolvers or semi's).

Thanks!

You could spray paint that XD a silver color.

As a 1911 fanboy, I'd always suggest a 1911 for .45acp needs. I believe Springfield makes a stainless version of their mil-spec.

LOL @ spray painting the XD. I'm a big 1911 fan too...in fact the only hand gun I currently own is a Springfield 1911 Compact (mil spec). I would consider a second one...but just putting feelers out.

How about Glocks?

Full size Glock 21 (45 ACP) would be an excellent choice for recreational shooting. And, compact size Glock 30 (45 ACP) would be a great choice for CCW.

Also, for recreation/casual target shooting, check out CZ97. Bit bulky but very nice gun for the price.

What Sam ^ recommended but I doubt you'll find too many places with it in stock........and if you do it'll probably be 100 dollars higher than listed.

Couture is overrated. :D

CPO Sig 220st is good...but don't know if you can score one for the price you want to pay. Good luck.

Try logging onto the Sig website. They have used, refurbished pistols in most calibers and they are warranteed. I bought several and have enjoyed them, the savings is significant and the pistols functioned perfectly. I really like Sig .45's and their reliability. You can buy two for the price of one. Good luck to you!
