I've decided that I'm going to buy a small "toy hauler" to take on shooting trips out of state. I have a Yamaha 350 ATV that I want to use more often, and it would be real handy when shooting long range targets. Here in the PRK there are places to shoot, but like Panoche, you can't ride ATVs where you shoot and visa-versa. It's asking for trouble from BLM to even try it.

The question is where to go. Nevada is a possibility, Maybe Oregon. I need an isolated spot, about a day's drive from the Fresno area, where one can find enough isolation to shoot at long ranges and ride an ATV without worries of being hassled. Anybody know about the laws in Nevada in relation to shooting and ATV's on public land?

I'm thinking of a varmint safari somewhere back east where I can shoot lead bullets at prairie dogs or ground squirrels as well.

PM freaking Stormfeather. He has the GPS coordinates to some nice areas where you can do what you are describing what you want to do.
