I'm not sure if any of you caught this, but apparently, someone stole a a patrol car from the Montebello PD, and then took off with the patrol's AR15 and Remington 870.

I do love this line in the story as it is really about OLLs!!!

Under California law, an AR-15 can be legally purchased by civilians, but not with a magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds.

^ My attention was drawn to the exact same sentence. I was pleased that the paper recognized that ARs are not illegal and can be obtained legally in California.

^ Seriously, that is some wonderful recognition for our OLLs.

When Police are the gun owners: "someone stole a a patrol car from the Montebello PD, and then took off with the patrol's AR15 and Remington 870."

When non-LEO are the gun owners: "suspect was arrested in possession of an Assault Weapon and a High Power Shotgun."

^ from what I read, the police AR was semi-auto. I am not sure if I read that on the article I attached or another one.

Personally, I am bothered by this story.
I'm bothered that some scumbag had the balls to take off with a patrol car and the guns it contained. Now that person is out on the streets with guns and balls of steel. Imagine what they are capable of doing, if they were willing to take the patrol car?

I am not sure if the cop neglected to turn his/her car off when they exited the car, or if they just left he keys in the cruiser, but that was just stupid. I can imagine that the cop must have felt embarrassed, and will probably be joke of the year.
