I went to J&J earlier this afternoon to meet someone for a PPT. Never been before, but know most of you from the gun shows, and am glad I did.
Folks, if you havent been, GO.
I rolled in to perform the dreaded time waster, a PPT. When I organized the meeting, I even allowed an extra 2 hrs...just in case.
Not surprisingly, based on what I know from the shows, I was greeted with a friendly "hello, what can i do for you?" I told the guy behind the counter what I was doing there as my eyes locked on to more black rifles than i have seen in a long time (yeah, there was other stuff, but BRD...you know).
So, now that I have told him that i was there essentially to make him shuffle my paperwork, I want to oogle and fondle the rifles.
No problem he says, whips one off the wall, hands it over, and begins the technical rundown.
For those that dont know, they are making their own rifles now. I have no idea what they cost, nor the lead time. The fit and finish was very nice, with the finish on both upper and lower matching very nicely (for those who care). there seemed to be about 12(ish) models to choose from ranging from the casual sporter to the uber tacti-cool. they had the full line of goodies, minus lpk's at this time.
During the course of the oogling, the Troy rear BUIS they had mounted on one of the rifles molested by yours truly really caught my eye (no pun intended, but its funny), and I had to have it. So, good job turning a PPT to a sale.
I have seen many threads pop up of late when we feel that we have not been treated well. I would like to see as many declarations of outstanding service too. They seem to be genuinely nice people doing their best.
The Big Disclaimer:
I am not an employee of J&J. Until today, I had never set foot, called, or driven by their store. J&J did not solicit my opinion, nor receive advance notice that this thread was going to be created. This is not a big scheme by me to obtain a discount on merchandise from them at this time, nor at any time in the future.
Thank you. Please check them out.
...forgot to add - total time spent (including aforementioned oogling) = 20 ish minutes
