View Full Version : How do I get my ccw in Kern County
How long to I need to have an established residence in Kern County before I can apply for my CCW? Is there a time limit?
Can I state that I work out of Los Angeles but that I still reside in Kern County?

Some counties require 90 days of utility bills as evidence of residency. You could call them and ask or see if it is on their website.
Get the application package from the Sherrif, it has the information in it.

And visit CalCCW.com. They have a good FAQ section, County by County.
Kern is a pretty good county to get a permit from. Good luck.

Just go to the grocery store in Kern, they're passed out like toilet paper up there (oops I mean rice paper). Enjoy, Kern is a great county!
You should be able to craft a solid good cause if you commute every day to Los Angeles. It would also help if you transport valuables/run your own business etc. Kern County has the most CCW permits in California I believe. If you do things properly you should have no problem getting one. I believe there is an application online but I picked mine up at the sheriff's office. Good luck!
