Hi,

Just wanted to see if you guys can clarify something for me. I'm trying to purchase a longgun through PPT up in the Bay Area. I'm planning to do a transfer to Enterprise Arms in Irwindale. Can the registered owner directly send it to Enterprise or does he have to send it through his FFL dealer to Enterprise.

I've asked Enterprise but Matt is off today, and there 2nd go-to-guy is not available today.

Your response is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Eric

A transfer that requires a shipment to the FFL is not a PPT. It is a regular transfer that the receiving FFL can charge whatever he wishes. And if a handgun (doesn't apply to your case), must be on the roster.

Now, for the owner, he does not need to use an FFL to ship it unless your receiving FFL only accepts shipments from FFLs. It is not a legal requirement that they do, but some FFLs will only accept from FFLs.

As the other member mentioned, the transaction you described is NOT A PPT TRANSFER. It is a standard dealer transfer and the receiving FFL may charge any amount they choose to do the transaction + 25.00 DROS fee.

Found this on Entreprise's subforum, http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showpost.php?p=1548658&postcount=8 about receiving shipments from non-FFLs.

Oh, and Entreprise posted this about being closed March 9-20, http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=159973
