Hello all,
this is my first post. I've been lurking around for a few months reading posts and whatnot. Please forgive me if this suggestion has all ready come up.

After reading some posts here, I have seen that we all are pretty much fed up with the continued erosion of our second amendment rights. I hear some of you active in ways of promoting firearms in a positive way. What I think would help our cause is to try and get more people involved in the shooting sport in order to have a bigger voice to the politions

My suggestions are as follows for gun ranges.

1. Promote Calguns at gun ranges by postings and word of mouth.

2. Try to get firearm ranges to give discounts to people who donate to calguns. like a 75.00 donation would get you a couple of dollars off the range fee. Would have to have some kind of card or something like that made up to show the range you donated required amount.

3. Bring a new shooter to a range to introduce them to the shooting sport. Have gun ranges like once a month give half off of range fees to new shooters. I think most people who really don't care about the second amendment have never even fired a gun in their lives. Maybe they will like it maybe they won't, but some will enjoy it and add to the ranks of gun owners.

I hope this will give some people some ideas to post of their own.

Good ideas and all, but I get the feeling that a lot of gun shops view Calguns the same way car dealerships view sites like Edmunds. A well informed customer isn't always a good customer. That said maybe an appeal could be made to their bottom line; giving a discount to CGF donors would be pretty cheap advertising.

I like that idea! but like they said a well informed buyer isnt always a good one

I think this would be the bread and butter, in my last 5 months of gun ownership I have brought atleats 12 people over to the EBR side!
I hope this will give some people some ideas to post of their own.

What about putting calguns on our rifles, like a sticker or something? I have started a group on facebook, maybe others could expand to other social networks?

How about Calgun gear?
Some of the folks that are gun people don't do the cause any good with with bully type tactics, behavior or bloused cammo pants looking like a wannabe.
And stop with macho answers when someone asks why you own guns. Just respond that it is your sport, your hobby or you just like guns.

Yeah, it is promotional and and it may provide an opportunity to engage the general public in meaningful communication.

A well informed customer isn't always a good customer.

A well then they should improve their customer service. THIS MEANS YOU GUN ROOM!

Customer service goes a long way. When you turn up your nose at a "potential" customer who "says" I am just looking and then you refuse to let them look at a handgun, will probably never get that said customer, or anyone he/she speaks with in the store ever again.

I am willing to pay more for good customer service. Its not the end all be all for me but it is a factor!
