I want one. But it seems like there woule be no way to get one in with current legislation as I am fairly certain it is not on the list. But what a neat little item. I would be willing to bet that no one would really suspect that it is a firearm until they physically inspect it thoroughly.

"Zip" guns. Very illegal.

Interesting 4 shot cell phone believed to be manufactured in Croatia (and confiscated) here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Improvised_firearm).

It's a pen gun and a pen gun is an AOW.

Can't own it, unless you get approval from the BATFE.
Also need to find a CA FFL/SOT willing to do the transfer.

The Stinger is the only "legal" pengun -- legal in that it considered anordinary pistol by the ATF. This is because it cannot fire till it is folded into the recognizable shape of a pistol.

I'd still be willing to bet you can't have it in CA.

Back in Armenia kids made stuff like this out of junk and it was a sort of rite of passage in the yards. No one ever got hurt and once the initial interest wore off, they were put away in the drawer and that was that.

Sadly, I didn't get the chance to make one. :(

This thread, and especially that wiki link, reminds me.
No matter what, you can never get rid of firearms.

Probably no more legal than this version of the OP's question:

I'm sure Jack will be along shortly to explain, but you can AOW it and get it in.

No no no no no… a pen gun is just about the only kind of AOW that you can not get legally in CA. It is specifically mentioned as being a no no in the section that makes it legal to have AOW’s.

Once upon a time I picked up a Bali Song knife and a collapsible tactical baton in a gun store in Las Vegas, but I don't think even THEY would sell you that thing.

Actually, it isn't an AOW per the feds because it fires when converted into a "handgun shape" before you can fire it.

Now, is it illegal in CA? What is the definition of "pen gun"? I dunno. It'd probably be caught under "any firearm which is not immediately recognizable as a
firearm".

I'm sure Jack will be along shortly to explain, but you can AOW it and get it in.Who, me? :D

Even if it was a pen gun AOW, the AOW exemption in CA has a pen gun exemption to the AOW exemption. So, no AOW pen guns in CA.:( Now, an AOW flashlight gun may be a different story :D
