which ones the beast?

Best is subjective....for a range/target gun and to look pimpin' and sexy, the Kimber.

SHTF and absolute reliability and no frills situations, the Glock.

That's why I got two drastically different types of guns to satisfy both cravings.

Yup! The Kimber is pure art and beauty. The Glock is like a Stanley hammer just a tool to do a job.

Very simple....

I put the barrel in white vinegar for about 4 hours to take the black oxide coating slightly off. Rinsed with water and baking soda to neutralize. Then I used 600 grit sandpaper and elbow grease to polish to my liking. Some recommend Flitz and a cloth or polishing pad on dremel, but since I had neither, the sandpaper worked for me even though it might have taken a little longer. In the end, it came out nicely and the way I wanted.
