Hello, I'm 19 my uncle is going to buy a gun and hes going to keep it and let me train on it at the range. He is going to give it to me when I'm 21 (PPT).

Can I go into a dealer and get a feel for the Glock 19 or will they not let me since im under 21.

What is a fair value for a glock 19 right now brand new from a dealer ship?

Here in the SF Bay Area a Glock 19 was almost impossible to find one when I purchased mine in December. I called at least a dozen dealers within 100 miles and eventually found 2. One with factory night sights for $600 which I bought. The other dealer obviously knew they were in short supply and quoted me $650 for his with the standard sights!
I was at the gun show yesterday and did not see one but there were plenty of other Glocks but the prices were quite high.
I really enjoy mine so I wish you luck in your search.

I was searching for one of these for a co-worker and as of Wednesday, 2-25-09, River City Gun Exchange in Sacto had them in stock for $549.99 (standard gun, no night sights). I bought mine from them a few months ago, used but unfired in the box with all the goodies for $459. Cordova Shooting Center in Rancho Cordova had one in stock for $599. I was at Alquist Arms yesterday in Turlock and their price was $499.00. Otherwise, couldn't find any in the Sacto area. I called Sportsmans Warehouse in Rocklin and was told they had no Glocks, and couldn't get 'em.

I think the shortage of Glock 19s is a temporary thing caused by the "Obama" effect and the popularity of this particular Glock model. When I bought my Glock 19 used for $350 about 10 years ago, this gun was found everywhere, both new and used. I suspect the Glock company simply underestimated the sudden increase in sales we have seen, and can't keep up with demand. Eventually that should even out and there will be plenty of Glock 19s. Prices should level out in the $500 to $550 range, I would think.

Right now Ammo Bros in Cerritos has two Glock19c, i think it was a C. But anyways it was the glock19 model that has a barrel porting right behind the front sight on top of the barrel. They look pretty nice and i think they were going for $589. I think! Im pretty sure it was just under 600. Anyways call them and ask for Dustin. He probably would ship it to you if you wanted. And thats a decent price considering it is ported.

and i think anything under $600 is a fair price for glock19, i have seen them on sale for $499 before. But that was about 1 year ago. I personally would jump on a Glock19 if it was under $550

I just picked one up a week ago for $585 out the door, but this is at Iron Sights in Oceanside. You will have no problem going and looking at them in stores, but some places have better service than others.

I just saw your other thread, so no help from the parents, what about grandparents? Good luck with it all.

Most dealers around where I live won't let you touch a handgun if your not 21 or older. If you look over 21 and don't get asked to show ID then you'd probably be able to get away with it. Me I look like I'm 15 and always get carded when I want to buy a gun or ammo, even a lotto ticket.

As for price since it's a hot item and dealers can't keep them in stock, price wise about 550-600 no night sights.

I spent over a week looking for one at just about every shop in the Riverside / San Diego / IE area. I found one and paid $550 for a new G19 on 2/18 at The Shootist in Murrieta, my friend went into the same shop on 2/25 and paid $600. I don't know if I got a good deal or if he got hosed.

I'm looking for the cheapest place to buy a G19 as well. I have't had much luck even finding anyone who has them in stock in the Riverside/LA area. If anyone else has any ideas they'd be appreciated. I'll check out Scottsdale Gun Club but I have never purchased a gun from another state before.

Again, check out Gun Canyon (there's a banner ad on this site). He has new ones for I think $519. I don't think you'll find a better price for a new one.

I can't seem to find the banner for Gun Canyon but the other link (Scottsdale Gun Club) has them for $499 + shipping. Does anyone know if I have to pay tax if the gun is coming to Cali?

I talked to Barry last week and he had just one G19 available for $550 through one of his "secondary" suppliers. I passed since I was ultimately after a G23. I bought my G23 on Monday from Reed's in Santa Clara. They also had at least one G19 with standard sights for the same price as my G23 which was $569.

anyone thinking about picking up a G19 I'd suggest grabbing one. I picked mine up this Monday. I got some time two nights back to really tear it down and compare it to my XD's and I was pretty happy with the glock.

I would consider buying another glock at some point.

I was at Sportsmen's Supply yesterday and they had one. It was new for $599.

As luck would have it, they also had used one in their consignment case for $430. But HAD is the operative word, there.

LC Action has one or two G19's in stock. They go for $425 but you either have to be a LEO or enlisted in the police academy. I know this because they called me to see if I wanted to pick one up. I opted to hold off for the OD Green one (that should arrive in a week or so).

Most of the GLOCK models are IN STOCK at CALIFORNIA POLICE EQUIPMENT, at El Cajon Blvd. & Marlborough in San Diego. (619) 280-1199. They have around twenty (20) GLOCK 19's right now. I just was in there and bought one today for $549 with standard sights. They will put on quality night sights for $100 and install them on the spot for free. No one else would do this for me.

PolishMike is earning a good rep at Discount Gun Mart. Unfortunately, the other sales people are not in his class, e. g., pretentious, cocky and very poor listeners to patrons. Their ammo prices are atrocious. Some employees tend to misrepresent the firearm products and do not know the industry well. So, Mike needs to train and indoctrinate the others or take his skills elsewhere.

Any with the factory night sights?

No, they weren't available (we've been lucky to get these with fixed sights, G26s and some G22 3rd gen and 22 RTFs as stock is still not up to readily available levels), but we can install them while in the 10 day wait as we've got the factory trijicon nite sights in stock.
