Hi all. This may be a stupid question but here goes. I have loaded 69's, 75's and 80's in .224 but never have loaded 55's. These have a cannalure(sp?) by the way. If I seat them so that the cannalure is exposed but the bullet is seated into the neck by 3/16" is that gonna cut it or do I need to go deeper to the cannalure to be safe? I am NOT shooting high pressure rounds and these do fit into a mag, no problem. I would like an answer ASAP as I want to get some rounds loaded to shoot this afternoon. Thanks everyone.

If they fit in your magazine you're fine. I shoot the Hornady 50 and 55 grain bullets all the time in my ARs.

IMO, the Horny 55gr SP bullets are the most accurate 55gr bullets I've ever shot. I seat them at 2.200" where the bottom section of the cannelure is barely inside the case and I crimp. The location of the cannelure are not always the same cause these are considered bulk bullets, not match. Just seat them at 2.200 and crimp.

Ditto. I'm going to give the Lee Factory Crimp die a try on my next batch, as well.

I LOVE these bullets.
