I saw some gloves I wanted so i found them online at this site, didnt think much of it, so I placed my order. Now, I hadnt used this credit card in months, but less than 6 hours after I place my order, my cc company calls me and says there are 3 pending charges on my acct, $700 something, $600 something, and $1,200 something from some wierd items, cell phones, etc.
I do a search of this company, find out they engage in shady business practices (yeah, should have checked BEFORE i placed the order).
They try to say they are a authorized military sales company, which they are not, and are not authorized to sell any military items, and there is a bunch of complaints about them in the BBB for other stuff.
I tried emailing them, calling them, etc, and got no reply. After a week I got a email with a 2 day fed ex tracking number. I got my package today, and inside is a flyer (that looks like my 5 yo son made it at kinkos) that shows some specials and another piece of paper saying how they are happy to have me as a new customer and upgraged my shipping to 2 day for free., and the next 5 ordes will have free upgraded shipping.
I'm posting this as a heads up warning for anyone that is thinking about doing business with them. I strongly suspect they are the reason my card number was used. I dont know what it is about Jamaica, NY, but this is the 3rd time ive been scammed by a business there. first time I ordered a video camera $500 less than anyone else was selling it. (price was $2,700.When I got the camera, it had B-Stock stamped on the bottom of the camera. I figured i learned my lesson from that, and never buy from the cheapest place anymore. Second time I ordered a projector from another company, had a bad HDMI port on it (cant blame them for that but it seemed fishy to me, as nobody else had the projector in stock and they had it $400 less than the next cheapest store) Now this with this company. I try to buy local, but all these items were a mail order only deal. Is jamaica, NY the shady capital of the us? Anyone else have problems from stores in this city?

did you break a mirror before all these experiences? Sounds like some serious bad luck. Only time I got real worried was when I bought my scope from midwayusa.com. I bought then researched and got kinda freaked out by a lot of the reviews. Turned out ok in the end and I've ordered a lot from them since. it does sound a little fishy though if you didnt loose your credit card.

You are a bit unclear as to if your gloves were included in the box or not?

I always steer clear of online deals from stores in and around NY. Especially for electronics and camera equipment. Lots of shady little shops in that area that usually don't work out too well...

There was a big photo journal done by someone on many of those shops. Suffice it to say the overwhelming majority are shady and have likely mob connections. No idea if the same is true of the shop you dealt with in this case.

+1 on both counts. I did got burnt while trying to buy a camera. There is a guy hwo has a blog on one of "sellers" from Brooklyn with lots of info and pictures. He received death threats, was beat up. The whole nine yards.
Will never, ever order anything online from NY area.

The funniest part (if you can call it funny) was that when I got the camera, there were 3 or 4 still pictures (i may still have them) on the memory card in the video camera. They showed pictures in a warehouse and of a shelf labeled "B-Stock" with electronic equimpment on them. Im not sure if someone was just that stupid that worked there or was fiddling with the camera and accidently hit the photo capture button. Either way I was pissed. I disputed the charges and ended up with a free camera.
And to the other poster, yeah, I got the gloves, They seem nice. Ill go shoot with them and see how comfortable/warm they are. Funny thing is the gloves have the MFG barcode with the MSRP of $70.00 and the Armed Forces MCSS sticker was right next to it on there that said $99.00 which is what I paid.
I knew when I bought them I was paying over msrp, but still find It funny they left the mfg's sticker on there. You would think they would put their sticker over the mfg sticker. The place is not only shady but way overpriced as well.

The individual who purchased the gloves received his item(s) in an expeditious manner and received a free upgrade on the shipping. All cc transactions are SSL, GNuPG and DoD secured.
AHAHAHHAA, where do I start? Now you have pissed me off, and im going to have unleash 2 cans of whip ***** on you.
First things first..lol, please tell me how my online cc transaction is GNuPG and DoD secured? GNuPG is a freeware version of PGP (pretty good privacy), which I happened to go to a PGP seminar years ago at a DEFCON convention. I met the author of PGP and am familiar how it works. For GNuPG or PGP to work BOTH the reciever and the sender must have a key, to encode/decode the message. I didnt place my order via email using GNuPG, but nice try. Go blow some acrynom smoke up somebody else's butt.
As for DoD, dept of defense? I didnt know they do secure online credit card processing! Please send me their link, as im always curious when the goverment starts a business in the private sector. <<NOT>>
But for SSL, that stands for secure socket layer, which is a encrypted web form used for secure transactions. I do belive you use SSL, but transmission of my cc number was not how it was stolen. Most likely someone I placed a order with wrote down the number in my order or printed it out and then sold the number to someone. (most likely you, but could be someone else, the only problem is i havent used that cc in months, and most thieves dont take 3 months to use a credit card number they have.)
Sometimes a coincidence is more than just a coincidence.
Next, I didnt get the order in a "expeditious manner" as you put it. In fact, I still havent recieved the second order of gloves I placed a order for that SAME DAY! Why is it I placed 2 orders for products, then sent a follow up email asking for them to be combines since your freight charges are OUTRAGEOUS, ($17 for shipping for the oakley gloves and $26 for the camelbak) and still have not recieved a reply? Or why has nobody called me back? OR WHY I STILL HAVENT RECIEVED MY SECOND ORDER, yet your website says "processed"?
My orginal order is as follows:
======================
Order # Status Date Products purchased Total
#47350 details>> Processed 02/03/2009 10:06
Camelbak® RFI Combat Gloves (Qty: 1)
$ 201.14
#47349 details>> Processed 02/03/2009 09:58
Oakley® - SI Assault Glove (Qty: 1)
$ 117.42
=================
So I place the order Feb 3rd, and recieved it Feb 19th. (via 2nd day air)
16 Days is a "expiditous manner" according to you? Lets let other people that read this thread decide for themselves. Im curious to know.
You apparently think by typing up acronyms and big words that people will be impressed or confused and not call you out. Unfortunately for you, im not one of those people.
Lastly, contrary to you spamming message boards and complaint boards with your comments on how everyone is crazy or mentally disturbed and you are such a good business, lets show these links. Why is it even Navy times says your not a authorized military distributor. They have it out for you i guess..lol.

MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY OF THIS, lets look at your company name and slogan..
ARMED FORCES MCSS, "PROUDLY SERVING AMERICAS WARRIORS"
I guess proudly serving our soldiers means selling them a product the mfg has a suggested price of $70 and reselling it to our soldiers for $99.
You are really doing a great service for our country. Screwing them out of what little money they have for much needed gear they need while on the battlefront.
Your company is real stand up! :thumbsup:
Is it that hard to make a profit at MSRP?
Im anxiously awaiting your reply.

Shady businesses USUALLY spend a GREAT deal of time trying to smash down the trash talk. You'll notice Todd Bailey has been a member of just about EVERY firearm forum that has had a member trash talk his product(s). For the average person, they don't have the life to be a part of EVERY forum so they pick a few and stick to them. For a shady business, it IS their life, and they actively seek these types of places out to refutre their "good business" name. I wouldn't be surprised if this place puts this in the "corrected" section of their brain and never returns to this topic again. They know continued exposure will only further show their bad side, where as they also know that MANY people, especially non-board members, will simply read the first page and be done with what they need.
As for them being a "Authorized Military Clothing dealer", you're reading it all wrong. Note the capital letters. They are not saying they are an authorized clothing dealer for the military; they are saying they are a dealer of clothing authorized for the military. They aren't saying they sell clothing to the military, they are saying they sell civilians clothing that the military uses. They aren't lying, they're just being sneeky about it.

Good job on posting this - the 'net is bottom feeder heaven, and the faster they're outed the better.
Next step might be to contact the NYS AG's office and file a complaint. The CC charges sound like a direct result of your contact with MCSS.

Plenty of other retailers of said items, need to filter out the trash, especially with the worsening economy, a lot of retailers will become shady on their charges- good thing for this forum- weeds them out.
