Anyone tell me why they changed the name of the M468 to the REC7, has there been any design changes or is this motivated by something else.
Wikipeadia doesn't really tell me hwy the change in name neither does the Barrett website. So whats the story and what does REC7 stand for.

IIRC, there were changes like gas-piston or not, and other design changes. artherd mentioned some of them in his raffle thread.
OK, found this in another thread.
The info below is from Barret...
The M468 has been discontinued and was replaced by the REC7.
The M468 was a gas operated model and the REC7 is a piston driven model.
There is currently a 12 month backorder on the REC7 and it is not legal in California.
Now I ask with a bullet button can one make this rifle or "these" rifle legal?
