I got this from my sister in Houston this morning:
Dave: Just wanted you to know that Ed will be on CNN Sat. night at 9:00 p.m.our time. It is a show called " D.L. Huhley Breaks The News". They came out to the Gun Club to film Ed and asked him why he thinks gun sales have gone up since Obama came into office. They also went down the rifle pistol line and asked other people the same question. Not sure how it will turn out, at first Ed said "no" to the interview because they are so liberal. You never know how they are going to spin it.
Take Care, Mary Ann

Sister and BIL own the American Shooting Center in Houston, TX. http://www.amshootcenters.com/
This should be good, a liberal news show asking my BIL and other conservative Texas gun owners what they think about Obama? :D

You know exactly what they're going to do... spin it like we're all idiots and insane for buying so many guns and then just reinforce the fact that they need to take them all away.

Not a big fan of CNN since they went into bed with Mr. Obama but I will watch this segment. No doubt that it will not be a good portrait of gun owners nation wide.

No doubt about it. If anyone from Obama's media camp asked me questions, I would tell them that the NRA speaks for me the way Hollywood speaks for Obama

Ed as in Ed Worley?

Ed Arrighi, Ed is a sharp guy, if he agreed to do the interview, it'll be interesting to see how much of it they do show. I'll call him tonight after the airing of the show, see what he says about how they spin it, and update here.

I'll be watching to see how it goes. Something tells me media and guns don't mix well. :(

Surprisingly, that was pretty good. For only being about 6 minutes long, they touched on a lot of points I wish more Americans knew about. Kudos to D.L. for not being completely condescending, smarmy, or sarcastic the whole time.

I wonder if this will add, or detract, from the current "frenzy"?

I get the feeling that he will be buying a rifle soon, since he said he already had a pistol (the Smith&Wesson comment).

Did anyone watch the one where he interviewed a bunch of people who supported Obama?

One lady talked about not buying her sixth pair of shoes while others give dumb responses as well in regards to making a "change".

Interesting that CNN is also running their NEWSROOM broadcast tonight which is all about mass murders on and off campuses who are also, of course, gun owners. Big emphasis on how easy it was for them to buy so many guns.

the usual biased trash that will help Hughley's viewers see that his program is simply not as "professional" or "in depth" as the NEWSROOM which offers us the "real truth" about guns and gunowners.

They could give 60 minutes lessons on misrepresenting the facts.

How many of those mass murders are committed with guns stolen from family members or black market stolens? I'm not sure if I'd call those gun owners.

Yeah, but there are fewer people with blinders here... Must gun-owning Texans recognize that Obama is anti-gun.

The real reason for the buying spree? We don't trust him!

Anybody coming to Houston should visit Jim Pruett's shop and go shoot at American Shooting Center. Both very good places for the shooter.
BTW...
Talon Arms (Calguns Sponsor) is another shop in Houston to visit that is here too! ;)

I liked it. The segment still had that, "These are a bunch of hillbillies" ring to it with that lame background music, but it did show that gun owners are just regular people who want to have fun, but also be able to protect their families and possession from ***holes. Instead of a bunch of retarded politicians who think they know better, these were regular ole folks.

Good reporting, no loaded questions.

The usual is showing some crying mother of a drug dealing ex felon gangbanger who got shot dead by another drug dealing ex felon gangbanger. Then cut to a video of a full auto AK47. Then the mother saying her son was just trying to turn his life around and walking to a church youth program...at 2:30 in the morning....carrying a gun...and a wad of cash...and drugs......for a friend.

I'm VERY surprised that this segment was so unbiased. Did someone lock the heads of CNN in the executive washroom and have their way with programming?

TRAP55

My sister followed them around the range with her own video camera and filmed everything they did so there would be no spin. She said he had a ball shooting the AR, we may have a convert.:D
I liked the fact that his questions got answered with straight forward answers, and they didn't try to make it look like a bunch of illiterate rednecks with guns.

I thought it would be a hit piece, especially with the goat-roping music in the background. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not slanted at all.

Well done, CNN.

Not really surprised. DL seems to bust up on everyone a little. Like a comedian. Mostly they tend to keep a more open mind than your expose' pieces by the supposedly objective serious reporters.
