There's a lot of news stories latetly about the drug gang violence in Mexico, and the pics of of the Mexican troops show them with ARs (usually 20" models) with long mags, looks like 40 rounds at least. Anyone else notice this?

they are 10/40 mags.

The rest of the space in the mag holds bribe money.

I thought the extra space held the drugs--

I have only seen a couple of Mexican LEO's with the 40 rounders. The standard carry AR is the Bushmaster in Semi only. Those 40 Rounder mags are purchased by individual Mexican LEO's when they visit AZ, NM or TX.

Actully its only a std 10 rd clip, with a fake 90 rd look, 10 rds p the center, and the right side holds the money, and the laft side holds the drugs, this might be the reason so many mexican cops are being killed. its kind of hard to shoot anyone when youre dealing. lol

I used to have a few 40rd AR mags.

Crappiest mags I think I've ever owned in my entire life.

PMI & Federal made 40 round AR and Mini 14 mags before the Clinton ban.
Most were excellent. Steel not aluminum

At this stage of the game, are there any "authorities" in Mexico?

The nation is very close to being nothing more than a Countinuing Criminal Operation at this point.

Smart money is that one of the regional cartels will be de facto running the country within the next year.
