Was just doing some research online to find any history on the B-17 my Grandfather flew in WW2 in the Eigth Air Force. He was the pilot for the "Miss America" for 18 out of its 69 missions in which not a single crew member died.
On the side of the plane was a portrait of the 1944 Miss America winner as she was a big troop supporter in the states. Then I came across the article above. She sounds like quite a woman.
