Looking at getting the 26" one to be able to carry a broken down AR to the range nicely and discreetly. I like the idea of it without lugging around a case that's too obvious that there's a rifle in there. Was looking at the SERT Compact Carbine Case too but it's pricier at $135 vs $85 for the blackhawk.

I've seen guys using bat bags like this one for discreet carry to the range.

$15.00 to $20.00 brand new.

A few years ago, I had a Colt SMG on loan from a federal agency. The Colt SMG carrying case looked like a bag for racquet ball equipment. Nobody would never have guessed there was a SMG with 5 mags in it. And my Perazzi shotgun two barrel case really does not look like a gun case. Couple times people asked me what it was an dI told them it is an Italian made small key board.

Music Trader happens to have plenty of damaged guitar cases for like $20-$30. Some of those would be perfect to repair and tweak into a rifle case.

I don't like blackhawk. Its cheap and IIRC made in china. If you are looking for a case, go to a quality company like Eagle industries. Top notch stuff and made here.

I have one of those, except mine is longer. I think it's a pretty nice case, although I wish it had more mag pouches.

You're thinking of Strikeforce, I believe. Blackhawk gets pretty cranky about wanting their stuff done stateside IIRC.

A fair bit of my Blackhawk gear is made in Vietnam.

Isn't the SERT Helmie's bag? (i-SHOT). If so, definitely go for it over the Blackhawk.

I've got two SERT TCC cases (http://www.sertsystem.com/html/sert-TCC.html). They're very well made; all molle inside. But I tried contacting them several months ago to buy another case and never got a response to several emails. Hopefully, they're still active. They make good stuff; worth the extra dollars as far as I'm concerned.

And yes, SERT = i-Shot (you'll see it referenced on the SERT web-site).

I'm muy Macho! :D:o

This has carried multiple items; LOTS of pistols and ammo as well as several different sniper type rifes.

Violin cases have too many bad Mafia connections? ;)

Read this thread. Best sneaky bag I've ever seen.

No, I'm definately thinking of blackhawk as far as quality goes. Lost of their stiff is 600D where other makers use 1000D, bar tacked and double stiched.

With where its made you could be correct, but I do know they aren't berry compliant. There are plenty of companies that are such as eagle, tactical tailor, kifaru, etc.
