How about we stop sending guns if they stop sending people?

The connection between the drug cartels and the Mexican army has given cartel leaders access to military grade weapons like the high powered Five-Seven semi-automatic pistols.

A favorite with the cartels, the Five-Seven has the advantage of being light: under 2 pounds, with a 20-round clip filled with bullets the cartels call "matapolicias' — "cop killers."

LOL - still using the 'clip' word in reference to a magazine.

Also, don't they know the 5.7x28 is the most inferior round ever?

HA. What pisses me off more than the incorrect usage of the word "clip" is the retarded phrase "cop killer."

Guns are illegal for the common man in Mexico, are they not?

Ley Federal de Armas de Fuego y Explosivos (Federal Law of Firearms and Explosives)

Generally, citizens are restricted by law to:

* pistolas (handguns) of .380 Auto or .38 Special revolvers or smaller in either case,
* escopetas (shotguns) of 12 gauge or smaller, with barrels longer than 25 inches, and
* rifles (rifles) bolt action and semi-auto.

Handguns in calibers bigger than those mentioned above are forbidden from private ownership.

Seriously, 150 grenades and light anti tank weapons.

I'm certain they are getting their fair share of weapons from across the border. But, why hassle with the chance of our incompetant border watchers(or pay them off) when they can get any military weaponry they want from the Mexican Army? I'm smelling something a little funny here.

The Mexican Army is in bed with the drug cartels.

The Mexican Federal Police is in bed with the drug cartels.

The police forces in the various Mexican cities are in bed with the drug cartels.

The only hope for Mexico would be an adequately armed citizenry.

Oops, there is no hope.

Build the frigging fence, and isolate that crap hole.

Why don't they send some of those C&R rifles our way and let the responsible ones hold on to them?

Because if the Mexican government put it back in their military/police Amouries, they'll just get "lost" or "misplaced" and end up being picked up again in the next Drug cartel raid.

Anyone else want to do some scuba diving and retrieve some of those bad boys when they are dumped. We need someone on the inside to find out the time and location.

No, guns are legal for the common man.

HOWEVER, you can not have anything guage/caliber used by the Mexican government.

That's why 10mm and .38 Super are so popular south of the border.

It funny they are blaming the US for the US gun stores supplying gangs with explosives, rocket launchers ect even though a lot of those weapons are not commonly available. Which suggest that weapons are coming from south american governments, some of which are supplied by the US, this article is BS or the weapons are coming directly from the US military itself:TFH:

Not to mention with the billions the drug industry brings in per year, there will be motivation for a supplier of weapons. Its not that hard for a multi billion dollar drug lord to manufacture AK style rifles, just a question if its worth the time.

If you read the article they cite US gun stores as 1 source of weapons, not "THE" source. It clearly states that many of the weapons are coming from South America and former Soviet States.

I would bet all the AR and .50 cal stuff comes from the U.S. easy to get and once down there easy to convert. The full Auto AKs and explosives, those are from other sources. Article even says some of the stuff is coming from their own military.

My buddy used to go down to Cabo San Lucas alot on his yacht and he only took catridges not used by the Mexican government. When I asked why, that's what he told me. Since he goes two-three times a year for the past ten years or so, I can only assume he knows what he's talking about.

I was also referring to another article that was posted on this site a few weeks ago with a similar report directly blaming gun stores for selling explosives, machine guns ect. The report did not even mention any other sources.

I still say we need a 'Berlin Wall type of border security with a TURD world country like Mexico next to us...or a mine field ...or some heads of drug dealers and other undesirables put on pikes where ever they try to cross..THAT sends a message...DO NOT ENTER!!!!

Oh wait I am being insensitive to all the illegal crimigants -child molesters, robbers, murderers, rapists, etc who have MORE rights and protection than us CITIZENS..why? because they have NO WAY of CONFIRMING who they are...you and I... in the effin CLINK!.

I will volunteer to watch over known drug entry areas if someone will donate ammo...targets will be donated by..............:83::tank::80::36::52::cheers2:

The Dems are going to use this as ammo for their gun ban. Saying that they have to outlaw assault weapons because the US is a major importer to supplying a cartel.I hope they don't but we have to look at all their angles before they do to keep OUR right! My 2cents.

When are we going to do something about our neighbor.

When we stop being part of the problem.
Hint: Demand for those illicit drugs.

When there is demand, there will ALWAYS be a supply.
And we have a HUGE demand as our society pays big bucks for it, whether in the inner-city or the yuppy beach-front city alike (except cops look the other way in rich cities, because it doesn't cause "violence").

Hmm. What ever happened to shoot on sight when someone crosses the border? Check all buildings within 2 miles of the border for tunnels where these rats come in and flush em out.

i bet a lot of those guns were WWII surplus that the US Government gave or sold to them in the 1950's/60's that ended up migrating (migrant guns) to the cartels through crooked soldiers/cops...US Gun Shops had nothing to do with it!
