Entrapment - The Batf in Action

By Bill Holmes

I've been meaning to post this for some time and it's just slipped my mind:

You might remember Bill Holmes from the Home Workshop Firearm series.

This book describes what he went through with the ATF over his manufacture of open bolt pistols post 1981.

He pulls no punches about his personal beliefs - to say that he doesn't like black people is a gross understatement, but beside from his personal beliefs the man's story is fairly interesting for a number of reasons.

It appears that he was supplying the "Activity" at Mena Arkansas during the Contra resupply program, he wasn't paid for his product, and after making a stink he came up on ATF's radar. He made some incredibly bad decisions while he was under investigation, culminating in his arrest.

He beat the charges at court, and then had to continue a long fight to have his seized machine tools and firearms returned.

It isn't great literature, but I'd assert that it's a must-read for gun owners, especially California gun owners.
