Do you think he could do this against his superiors will?

I wouldn't call the people who run CNN superior; generally I'd say they're inferior in a lot of ways.

I didn't call them superior either.

But you know what someone's superior means, right? Like, his boss at his workplace?

LOL, you're kidding, right? The higher-ups at CNN, like the execs at any television studio, care only about ratings. Higher ratings = higher price for ad time and more demand for that time. That equals more profit for company which equals them doing a good job in the eyes of company shareholders/owners/CEOs.

Lou Dobbs is a token right winger at CNN just like Alan Combs was a token left winger at Fox News. As long as A) people watch him, B) he doesn't violate FCC regs, and C) he doesn't embarrass the network, Lou Dobbs' superiors don't care what he says.

That said, good stuff. I hope it gets lots of press. The more it is talked about, the more political capital it would waste for the dems to go after. Let them worry about the Economy, Health Care, Foreign Affairs, and Entitlement funding, those are pressing issues that they'll need that capital for if they hope to get anything done. We need to be seriously supporting pro-gun rights Dems like Kirsten Gillibrand so that pro-gun Dems come out on top of whatever internecine squabbling is going to happen on this issue in the next 4-8 years (like what is shaping to be a battle (http://www.newsday.com/ny-usmcca2712399062jan27,0,2013922.story) for that senate seat in the 2010 Democratic primary between her and Carolyn "that shoulder thing that goes up" McCarthy). More pro-gun Dems will equal a less anti-gun Democratic Party.

Dobbs needs to switch to FOX

Why? I think he has more credibility with non-conservatives when he's on CNN.

You know that in the media-celebrity-liberal circles, FOX is a punchline to mean "Tinfoil-wearing, right-wing, neo-nazis." We need more guys like Dobbs, and John Stossel on the other mainstream networks to bring some common sense to the issue.

To the person who applauded CNN: Never confuse the lone voice of sanity crying out in the wilderness for the voice of the establishment as a whole.

Completely agreed. As long as the "mainstream" networks operate in ideological lockstep and pretend to be "neutral", it's easy for liberals to rationalize (and demonize) Fox as "conservative ideological propaganda." Because clearly, CNN and CBS agree with one another, and that means that they must be the centerpoint.

Fox doesn't make a particularly good spokes-network for the conservative movement in any case. It's sensationalistic and plays fast and loose with the facts. Many of us on the ideological Right (and I do count myself in that group, despite having significant disagreements with the Republican Party and with many self-described conservatives) very correctly poke fun at the self-deception and cult-like nature of the Left and their self-imposed obliviousness to factual information that contradicts their beliefs. Do we really want to follow their model by lionizing a network that does the same thing with "our" slant?

Dobbs' piece was great. Really hope CNN doesn't pressure him to shut up on the topic.

Good video, nice to know someone in the media is on our side.Part of it I think is he really sees their socialist view and it is very disturbing. See Germany as the NASDP was coming into it's own was a socialist movement. The blue collar German was out work, the economy was down. Hitler said in memoirs written by others "if we control the streets, we control the people" it's a saying that I have and was the virtual reality that was in Germany when Hitler took over "give a dog enough to eat and he wont ask for anything and will always be content" Remember the NASDP didn't ban every political party over night. But he did it by controlling the majority of the working class. Now don't misinterpret my words as I'm not saying were turning into Nazi Germany but a more some intellectual form of socialism. See the Nazi's didn't involve any intellectuals as they saw as a weakness which in the end was one of their downfalls.

I'm really just paying attention to whats unfolding with this new administration. And am afraid to really share my thoughts about this because they're only assumptions of my learnings about WWII and the people involved in the political climate at the time. Germany gave all that it could to it's working class citizen, it gave a virtual reality of that they to can have it all by not doing much. They gave the regular worker very luxurious items at very and I mean very discounted prices. Which of course were mostly stolen goods from those displaced during the war. They gave discounted cruises to places they never thought possible. Full paid 2-4 weeks family vacations. See Germany was in complete shambles and the NASDP saw this as a sign and opportunity to take power from the current political climate. I have way to many thoughts about what is really going on at the moment, but am afraid of what can happen down the line. I hope we don't fall into a sense of a false reality. It has happened before and it's bound to repeat at some point or another. Which is why history is very important and there are a lot of people who don't read up on it. This new breed of politicians are real good tongue twisters.
