Is there anything wrong with the Stag 10/20 and 10/30 mags? I saw a member post to stay away from them. What's wrong with them?

I haven't seen one in a year. The one I had I didn't have problems. I think alot of people will just suggest you buy rebuild kits and make your own.

Yeah, I have a problem with two of mine, though it's nothing terrible. When the 10th round is loaded, and if the bolt is closed, the magazine needs a really heavy slap to lock into place, and then won't drop until either the 10th round is ejected or the bolt is opened.

Its nothing huge, but it's enough so that I won't buy Stag mags anymore.

I just bought 2 10/20 and 2 10/30's, and I hope they are fine when I get them.

This happens w/ 30 rd mags as well.....except w/ the 10/30s....you gotta make them tight enough so that the 11th rd cannot pop in.....

Most practice is to load 28/29 rds in 30rd mag for the same reason....

STAGs work great sell'em by the buckets....but havne't seen any for many months...

I PMed the member that warned against them and his reasoning was that they are not that permanent since the only thing they do is punch tabs in the mag body and bend them in. Since they can easily be bent back there is risk of being prosecuted. I've never seen these mags in person but what are your opinions?

I want to keep my risk level low with this one, doesnt seem like its worth a risk for a mag that is just for looks. I want virtually no risk involved since I'd rather use a regular 10 rounder before putting myself at risk because I want it to look a certain way.

Just buy the 10/10 then. If you want it for pictures then just buy one and keep it at home for pictures.

I do want a 10/20 but if the one made by stag is any riskier than other brands I'd rather stay away from them. Just wanted to see what everyone thought.
