Actually, the trigger group on my new 22 inch standard is -- It WON'T Come out. It's in a GI Birch stock from Springfield and I've been trying to get it out for an hour. Short of gouging all around the periphery with a knife, any tips?

The wood on one side is very tight against the trigger group.
I am afraid to put my full strength behind it because I'm afraid I'll snap the trigger bow off.

Maybe WD40??

WD40 might make the wood swell.

Put a scrwedriver in the trigger guard hole to get a bit of leverage.

Try some of the canned dust off for computer keyboards on the trigger group, it gets super cold and just might make the metal cold enough and contract enought to give the room to remove it from the stock.

can you remove the receiver barrel from the stock ?

can you remove the receiver barrel from the stock ?

The trigger group is what locks the barrel and receiver into the stock

Push up on the middle of the trigger bow (like you were trying to close it) while prying out and back with the screwdriver.

If that doesn't work, you could try shooting it and seeing if it shifts looser under recoil.

Hey John,
Did you get another JAE again?!?!? wow$$$
by the way I saw you on LA Police Gear's/Maxpedition '09 Catalog!
Your a rock-star!!!

Was it a printed catalog?

Yeah, I wasn't going to get another JAE but I had this extra M1-A and wanted the grey/black stock finally... You know how that is...

The thumbwheel is Great -- the thing I hated about the JAE with the spacers for cheek height is that if you set it up for a scope, you had to unscrew the whole thing and take out the spacers to use the iron sights.

I even assumed you couldn't use the iron sights with the JAE -- but I'm happy to announce that when the thumbwheel is put all the way down you can use the irons. Great stock.
