Thank you for the quick response. I was also interested in the rings and base to mount the scope. I was recommended the LEU54149 for the rings and LEU49840 for the base. If you have those, could you quote me a price on that as well? If not, please let me know what you would recommend to mount that scope on the rem. 700 VTR.

Not sure why you want a gloss base with matte rings, but that's your call, so be it. Price for both is $65. In stock. With a Remy 700, you can use almost anything. For a lightweight hunting rig Lupy is fine.

Ahhh... And that is why I asked as those model numbers were suggested to me. :o Can you let me know if there is a difference in price for the matte base or is it just a different model number? (I would like them to match) Oh and if you think there is a better set up as the rifle will be a .308.(not sure if that classifies as a lightweight set up or not) just let me know.

being a tactical guy, I've always liked the flexibility of a Picatinny rail on a bolt action. Let's you mount about anything, but it's more $$ too...

Amazing service! I placed the order yesterday and it showed up today. Everything is as I ordered. Only note is that the Nikon scope came with flip up dust covers already on the unit. I will just keep the others as a backup in case I wear the others out. Thanks again for the great service and speedy delivery.

I decided to check the other covers for the correct fit and the eyepiece is just a bit too small. The larger piece fits fine. The eyepiece portion just will not fit over the rubberized part Nikon has on the eyepiece to adjust the focus. I am thinking the next size up would work. Let me know what you would like to do.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. I was waiting for you to return the BC eye cover so I would be cued to send you the replacement. That's all it would have taken. An item like that can easily slip through the cracks otherwise.

No problem at all Scott. I guess that is part of the risk when you can't actually touch the items and eyeball the fit. If the web site says that those rings and base work with a Remington 700, then that is really all I had to go from. I will find some way to use those rings or find them a new home.
