I posted this pic awhile back. I have added another dozen or so over the past 3 years.

They are fragile, expensive and crude. I remember seeing one for the first time when I watched "Combat" back in the 60's.

A German sniper had one and I thought it wasn't a German rifle because it had a magazine.

I ran around that summer with my plastic M1 Garand with a red wood block held to the bottom pretending I had one.

Now that I have one, I am afraid of moving around too fast because I might break it.

Life is weird.

You are an obsessive person, in a good way. :)

I wish I can get a G43, but really can't afford one. A while back HK made a hunting rifle that resembled the lines of a G43 and I didn't get one. Missed my chance.

I have an ac44 K43 (yes, K43 not G43) mixmaster for days when I feel like being Hans instead of Hank....I installed the Apfeltor shooter's package and will only shoot non-corr ammo in her. That said, my Garand's get a lot more trigger time. Still a beaut though...

Nice G41.

I guess I should have said the front two are G41 duv's. The other ten are G/K43s of the ac, bcd, duv and qve varieties.

I have added another G41 duv and I guess 14 G/K43s since that pic was taken.

The elusive G41(W), G41(M) and G43 long barrel weapons escape my grasp.

Probably couldn't afford them anyway.

Wow. That is an awesome collection. The G43 has always been my favorite WW2 rifle. NICE!

I added that rifle/rig that Saigon1965 pointed out to my collection. (and I did ask if he was going to buy it and he said he had no problems if I did get it)

I bought it because I am trying to collect the original finish - rough/chatter marked stocks of the latter day K43 rifles. The rifle in question does have a nice rough original stock. It has a beautiful bore. The mount was a fake, but I accounted for that in the purchase price.

When I got it home and looked at it in bright lights I started to wonder if the metal was too good looking. I brought it to a friend who did confirm that the metal was reblued/dipped. This occurred well after I had agreed to buy it/paid for it after using my inspection period. I did not ask for any guarantees on the rifle.

So I think I have lost around $700 to 1000 of my $4200 purchase price.

You would think that I would know better than this.

Wish I didn't learn so much from my own mistakes. :(

If you ever sell, let me know! It'll have a good home.
