When you finialy get a shot at a buck you will understand.... its not like being at the range.....hell, I've seen guys miss at 30 yards.

Ever hear of buck fever?

Trust me, i cant wait to take my first shot! Im not saying its easy, im sure it is far from in fact. Being so nervous and getting the "what ifs". Im just saying i dont know if i would post a video of myself missing 3 shots at a deer like that lol! Like i said, i cant wait to take my first shot. all i can do his hope i dont get the fever and mess up a clean shot. video is priceless though :D.

OK - True Story -
My first deer shot was almost that bad. I had such buck fever - I missed entirely and he was only about 90 yards out - the guide I was hunting with was so convinced that I hit him, he wouldn't let me reload and shoot again, he said "Just Wait, he'll fall over and die"...but then the deer went back to eating - so I hit him "again" for real this time - and he ran off about 15 yards and was dead.
If deer don't get any pressure they tend to not freak out too much when they hear gunfire.
That video is about the most extreme case that I've seen.

Question " What is the best caliber for deer hunting"

Answer---The one you can shoot

First shot - chalk it up to buck fever. Second shot, adrenaline is still there, hunter has to calm down. Third shot, lose your hunting license; you only get a learner's permit. And that's being generous.

If you look in the background, you can see 2 other stands. If you look at the placement between them, and assume that the third is the same distance round abouts; you can be pretty sure he is not zoomed in much if at all. I think that is an accurate shot of how far away he was.

All the bullets hit low and to the left, which leads me to expect that the sights or scope is off. I'm thinking that the guy needed to spend more time sighting in his rifle and less time building his hunting shack on stilts.

Nice deer, though.

Nice deer, though.

Even so, after the first two shots, he should have noticed this. He could have gone for some good Kentucky Windage. I get the feeling that his scope/rifle if no scope, was sighted in right, but that he might have been pulling the rifle with the trigger.

Balls has nothing to do with it, plain and utter instinctual stupidity is more like it ;)
