I was checking out the Missouri Bullet Company website based off the recommendations from my last thread (thanks guys) and I found these:

Has anyone tried these 250gr "PinBusters!" bullets before? How well did they shoot?

It's next to impossible for me to find load data for these (or any 250 gr bullets in this caliber) so that leads me to my next question. Does anyone have any load data for these? It seems not to be worth it as the 45 ACP is particularly finicky with bullets heavier than 230gr. I was thinking about 5g of Bullseye under the Pinbusters and an OAL of 1.275" but I don't know.

havent tried those, but the Lee book shows a 260gr jacketed bullet start 4.3 of bullseye, max of 4.5. Velocity was pretty low at 700 fps so this should work, but i wouldnt consider my self to be an expert in reloading just yet. Maybe start at 4grs and work from there?

That looks like it would be a good bullet for my 45AR --

Laser-Cast says 3.3 grains of Clays, 3.8 grains of Titegroup, 3.5 grains of Solo 1000, 3.9 grains of Bullseye, or 5.0 grains of Unique. All at 1.168". There's also a note of 'Use above loads exactly as listed", "These are MAXIMUM loads - No not exceed charges, or chorten overall lengths. Do not fire these loads in pre-1950 revolvers. For use in pistols with fully supported chambers only." Oh, and the header for here indicates that these are IPSC Heavy-Bullet Major Loads +P and this was written back when Major PF was 175.

Yikes, I think I'll stick with the 230gr bullets.

Would the pressure be lower if I loaded them at 1.275"?

Yes but, it would be next to impossible to predict how much and it would NOT be linear.

IIRC, 1.275 is the maximum OAL for the ACP. You may have trouble feeding a lead bullet at that length so load a few and test them before you create a monster. If they turn out to be too long, I DO NOT recommend just pushing the bullet farther into the case. Once you've crimped it, you would do a good bit of damage to the bullet.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but, when you start shooting a new load, take extra care to make certain that the previous bullet has left the barrel before you pull the trigger.
