Can you make ab shell grips or anything else out of them? I have a bunch of ab shells that just sit on a fence in front of my house. I'll send you a couple for free if you can use them. This is a big part of the deal: I would like to see them made into grips, or something else cool. You pay shipping of course.
Ab shell dust is very toxic, just warning you. Thanks for the heads up Tankerman.

Grind at own risk.
I believe Abalone shell dust may be toxic.

I hope not, I tried to make some for a friend's bersa and just couldn't overcome the natural curve of the shell. Inhaled a lot of dust trying though. I was scared to go to deep and cut through it, although I guess it really wouldn't have mattered because I have a lot to work with.
Edit: Holy crap, you are right. Thanks for the heads up, it looks real toxic from what I read. Good thing I didn't do too much of it (I hope).

it is a natural source of cyanide so please be careful.

I am interested. Might be able to make knife handles out of them. I have a trim saw and know about the dust. Thanks.
