IF I get more bags, the names above will get first shot at it. I will PM these people when I know more.

So far that puts me over what I have.

EDIT 1/25/09: Thank you to everyone who has shown interest. I am going to attempt to get more of these bags in order to fill the current list of people. At this time, I cannot guarantee I will the additional 46 requested bags, but I may be able to come close, I will know by next weekend.

Thanks again!

PM sent. Do you know if they can be baked to re-activate them? If so, I'll take 10. Can we meet for a FTF? I'm in Imperial Beach.

Pardon my ignorance, but what are these desiccant bags for?

01-23-2009, 7:51 PM
They work great for absorbing moisture in enclosed spaces. Pack your ammo can full of ammo, throw one of these in there and everything will stay dry. I used to get them from vacuum sealed electronic components until we outsourced all of our manufacturing overseas. :(

Hmm...what if you keep your safe inside the house? Also, how many would you need for a safe that has interior dimensions of: 58"H x 19"W x 12"D? And if I should use more than one, should I just throw them at the bottom of the safe or put them in specific spots throughout the safe? And finally, how long do these last?

If these bags can actually protect 13cu. ft. of space, then you would only need 1 for your ~8cu. ft. safe. Usually, the desiccant in the bag will be blue when it is dry and will turn pink when it is saturated with moisture and needs to be re-activated. Re-activation can be done in an oven set above 212 degrees but less than 250 degrees for 4 hours or so. Electric ovens work better than gas ovens since burning gas produces moisture.
