...the cable is the 6.5 foot $59.99 (geez, HDMI cables are expensive) one...

Dude, ouch! Next time check out monoprice.com for your cables. I hate seeing people getting taken to the cleaners for accessories like this. Here's a 6ft HDMI cable for ten bucks. (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024004&p_id=3960&seq=1&format=2)

Note: This is in no way intended to be a threadcrap, I just want to keep my fellow Calgunners from being fleeced by places like Best Buy that do this kind of thing.

So your point is to make me feel bad for overpaying. Great. Thanks for crapping.
Guys, I have no idea of quality on the cheap ones vs. the Sony ones. I assume one can also buy cheaper Blu-Ray players. However, if someone would like a Sony player with Sony cable that is what I have for $120.00 under retail with no tax. Thanks for looking.

You always get what you pay for. A $10 HDMI cable will have major interferance. Also, the one you linked us to is not HDMI 2.0 compatable, meaning you will get a slower transmission of data and could not use the 120GHz feature or 240GHz HD feature if your TV has it.

The Sony HDMI cable listed with this sale is much better and will support ALL current and most near future technology.

Just like guns...you can get the same part, lets say a grip , for $5 or $40. Will there be a differance...YES!!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I've seen the differance.

Either way the OP has a great product at a great price here. I'm not gonna thread jack him to debate cables and quality.

Thank you Toolfreak.
Maybe this will STFU the idiots who have seen fit to crap all over my thread here...I am now selling the Sony Blu-Ray player for $280.00 and I will throw in a Sony 6.5 foot HDMI cable for free.

70+ bucks worth of savings here and no one is jumping on this? I would've jumped on this if I needed another blu-ray player. Good Price!
