You can pay less but may have to wait up to 14 days to pick up your purchase because the local FFL is only open F-Su. Or, you can pay more, drive farther, and get it after 10 days and one second has passed at Gun Store X. Which method do you prefer?

Depends on how big the savings is, $10-20 Ill just pay it. $50, $100 i would be more willing to wait. Just depends
I voted give it to me now because i don't think it will be a big savings.

Considering DROS is a regulated fee, what exactly would you be charging extra for, what amount makes it worth it for you? Porbably just better off advising your customers of there pickup date and say sorry I am closed on your 10th day, you'll have to wait 12. If you want return customers that "Need" there weapon in 10 days, maybe you could accommodate and make them happy.
Word of mouth can be good or bad for a business. How many "The shop charged me 20 bucks just to get my gun on the 10th day when the shop was closed" threads would there be?

Don't even want to wait 10 days. That's why I got my C&R and COE.
If I was given 10 days, I can make extra $***, but I cannot purchase 10 days for $***.

Yea well you can still do other things, including making money, during the 10 day wait.
DROS is already ripping me off. I am not paying anymore to get my firearm. I just make sure when I go to buy a firearm, the store will be open on the 10th day. The 10 day wait sucks! I miss the days of living out of state and doing cash and carry.

depends on how much I would save as well as if there was something coming up that I wanted to use it (like a shoot)
Really though customer service and honesty are the only two things that matter much to me

As impatient as I can be when it comes to certain things, my frugleness will win 9 times out of 10 ;)

There is truth in your words ;)
I said I can wait but it really depends on how much I'm saving.
If its only $20 or so, I'll eat it and get the gun sooner.

but what if you don't want antiques??
$10-20 not a big deal. more, absolutely. prticularly as I have this neat invention called a calender, and can think and buy on a day when they will be open for pickup, if I really need it 2 days early.
I am curious- how many here when they buy a gun REALLY NEED it in 10 days versus 12? If you are buying a new gun that close to a big shoot or hunt, you are nuts anyway!

Depends also, to me, if I like otherwise traveling to where the gun is cheaper. If I can make it part of a weekend drive, great. But I'm not that impatient waiting for most guns that a few extra days matters. I've had guns for 35 years, with a few brief gaps. It take a really special gun to get me impatient, like when I got my 454 Casull (Raging Bull 8+" barrell Stainless) a few years ago. Looking forward to a day soon when I buy the S&W 460, almost bought one the other night.
However, hopefully soon it will be a moot point, as I am going to join the ranks of those with C&R & COE

I was going to say option B until I read you're post. I say option A.

I'd most likely wait but $20 and 20 miles is a different story than $150 and 150 miles.

I guess, if I really needed the gun in ten days, I'd make the drive. The thing is, I should never have to be in that situation. Even if I needed that gun for a match, I should be smart enough to plan ahead. I don't normally pick up on the 10th or 11th day unless, I happen to be there already. Why don't you ask yourself which FFL you prefer to do bussiness with and go from there.

I'd prefer the way we have it in TX. Present my CHL, put down my cash, walk out with the gun. No 4473, no NICS check, no waiting period.

That's what I thought % wise. I mean, I am a gun buyer also. I knew how I felt about it.
I made this thread because I had a customer who balked because I am only open F-Su. His Friday transfer was going to have to be picked up 2 fridays later. We worked it out and he DROSed today. Looks like he chose the time and money savings over waiting period afterall.
