Don't sweat it. UCOP access could be by someone on our side though more likely from some risk management/lawyer type. There's nothing in your blog that can get you in any trouble and you're already in the UCPD system.
Just be sure you don't violate any of the UCSD "Principles of Community" or whatever they're calling it now. It's a PC manifesto and it can be used to make your life difficult. A prof. told us a story about a minor fender bender involving 2 students ending up in a huge mess because of anti-pc stuff uttered by one of the parties. Don't refer to the feminazi from the Womyns Center as one and you should be fine.

Just do us all a favor and never, never, ever carry a firearm onto UC property in your car. If they are keeping an eye on you, you can bet that sooner or later that will arrange a "traffic stop" when you are on campus. Don't have a gun in the car. Not even locked in your trunk. It does us no good to have a trailblazer getting himself nabbed for something that dumb. I am sure you are already aware of that, but I just figured I would point it out again.

After seeing that little tidbit pop up (UCOP accessing my blog) I am cleaning out my ENTIRE car of EVERYTHING, you can bet on that. Not a stray round to be found by the time I am done.

I wouldn't sweat it. So he/she knows that the brainwashing hasn't worked on at least one of his/her students. That can't be a bad thing, can it?

Hey Tarn Helm, I'm not sure about that picture man... that's a guy who was actually murdered. I don't think that's cool. Maybe I'm being too sensitive.

How do people track who has been to what sites? Does your blog provide that info for you?

The last one may actually be a heads up that the UC Pres is a bit worried about how the situation was handled considering the original complaint and source.

I got a counter from statcounter.com. It tells institution/ISP name, time of visit, visit length, general location, where they came from, how they left, etc.
Pretty nifty. For instance, I have hits from an article on Obama where someone discussed California UOC and they linked my blog, a thread where mustangworld.com discussed the topic and my blog was posted, etc. I love seeing how far and wide this goes.

That is kind of encouraging to look at it in that way. Still though, I am cleaning the hell out of my car so I can be above reproach.

I agree. Why give them anything to mess with you.

I would worry a bit about the last one since you are attending a UC. The UC system is known to bar people for life based on nothing more than bad publicity / conflict of interest. There have been many cases where someone was charged for something, had their day in court, found not guilty, and still bared from the UC system. Typically people are barred within a few days of the arrest it the offense is considered grounds for expulsion (the PD will call your school). In your case, you like to push the limits of the law, and while your actions are still well within the law, I would be worried about being falsely arrested or detained and having that end your academic career.
Unfortunately the UC system in general is more worried about the welfare of trees than second amendment issues.

I used to have a statcounter when I had a regular website. Now wordpress.com does my stats... but not nearly as detailed.

The Starbucks Company from Seattle, WA just found my blog via Google by searching "open carry California." I thought it was a valid entry for a minute but then discovered that it originated from an iPhone.
It only goes to show how little traffic there is, if you're able to deal with every entry :p

I get about 100 per day at the moment, just the company names stand out as I scroll through them or the ones from repeat threads on other forums.
Just find it interesting...

I think you are reading too much into your logs.
The UC one is most likely the registered holder of the IP address block. Some say "Regents of the Univeristy of California", etc. That doesn't mean that any of the Regents are reading that site, but most likely a lab somewhere in the UC system.
As for the Starbucks, I'm not sure how they route their internal traffic. Perhaps they do some sort of proxy/cache type thing for their Internet for filtering purposes, etc., and said proxy or even just the unproxyed location is in a network that is registered to Starbucks. Probably a casual surfer at a coffee place.
Use ARIN to check the IPs in question for yourself (http://www.arin.net/whois/), and then if you are really curious as to exactly where the surfer is, use a trace route utility to determine some of the last few hops and then ARIN those ones.
Chances are this is all nowhere as sinister as you are fearing.
Leave a letter to the Pres in the trunk. Nothing else, just the letter. When you get pulled over, thank them for saving you 42 cents.

+1, I know folks who work at the UC and enjoy target shooting and hunting, but they don't talk about it at work due to the political climate.
