Nice. Is it hard to install the sights? I just got my 870 and all it has is a bead site in front.

You will need to have a gunsmith do it. I had mine done at the dealer where I purchased the 870. Let me just say that the ghost ring sights are the way to go. You will not regret getting them.

Nice looking 870. Do the 870's that come factory with 6 round capacity have a 2 round extension you can remove?

Yes, you can just unscrew the extension once the magazine/barrel clamp is removed (one screw).
I think you would just need a shorter spring and a screw-on cap to convert back to standard capacity.

It's refreshing to see a well done shotgun, especially since I've been seeing so many high-drag, low speed shotguns lately.

Thumbs up for a nice, clean build.

The 870 that I purchased came standard with the extension tube. My capacity is 6+1 and that is standard factory configuration on this model.

Scooter, I'm thinking of getting the same setup, is there anyway you can post a pic angled as if you were looking through the ghost ring night sights? Sorry to be a bother, but it would really help my research.

Nice setup. I have the same Rem870 model. Picked it up at turner's a couple months back. What sights are those? Wilson Tactical/Scattergun? I've been meaning to get one of those put on my 870 as well.

I'd like that same setup but with the tactical buttstock with the pistol grip. Nice shotgun.

They make a marine magnum like that, yeah?

Very nice shotgun! I think a Knoxx spec-ops stock and a powerpakk would totally complete it.

I've never been a fan of ghost ring sights for home defense because lining up the sights takes more time away from pulling the trigger to finish the job, and it's harder to miss with a shotgun at close distances. Just my opinion, though.

How much does one of these(870) usually run for in a gun shop?

$300-$350 for the 870 security

I will try and post some other pictures with a better angle. In regards to the ghost rings I find at night with the light on lining up the target is easy. See the ring over target and fire. Pretty easy when eyes are blurry.

My gun was completed at Bolsa Gunsmithing in Westminster, CA. The Ghost Rings sights are by Trijicon.

My total cost was for shotgun, sights, SureFire, Speedfeed 12" stock, and Wilson Combat sling was about $800.

I used Wilson Combat as my guide and it was about $400 less than one of their guns.

That's a price I like. Would this model of the 870 be good for HD or this there another that's more suitable? Also, is there also a waiting period for picking up shotguns?

Thanks in advance,
LL

Nothing wrong with this model for home defense. Remington is a very reliable and well tested brand.

Yes you have a 10 day waiting period once you start the DROS paperwork.

You still have to wait the 10 days. No safe handling care or any of that b.s
