My thanks to Jason for sending this to CaliforniaConcealedCarry.com. I thought it was worth reposting here.

I thought your members might be interested in this editorial by Rep. Rob Bishop about the ban on guns in National Parks: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=30284.

So does this mean that those of us without a CCW can now unloaded open carry in Joshua Tree, Mojave, Death Valley, Sequoia, and Yosemite? Luckily not too many schools in those areas.
I assume that you can with a CCW.

It means that you can Concealed carry your weapon in the National Parks, which you could not legally do before.

From the amended regulations:

Notwithstanding any other provision in this Chapter, a person
may possess, carry, and transport concealed, loaded, and operable
firearms within a national park area in accordance with the laws of the
state in which the national park area, or that portion thereof, is
located, except as otherwise prohibited by applicable Federal law.

Does this mean I can carry a loaded and concealed rifle? :43:

ETA: Just realized that National Parks probably constitute a "prohibited area" under 12031. So, no loaded rifles :(
