This time they have their undies in a bunch about the famous 'gun show loophole'. How they got my name I don't know, but there it was in my mailbox today.

It's sad, really. Not even worth refuting.

But they can have their materials back in their post-paid business reply envelope. :D

Has anyone tried to get their tax exempt status yanked lately? They need to feel the bite of owing 20+ years of back taxes with interest and penalties plus jail time accompanying it.

I *highly* doubt it. The NRA will do mailings, but will *not* release names.

This is maybe the strangest statement on this forum all week. That's saying something because Nick_the_Sniper is being creative in denying the point of the 14th Amendment...

In this case, aside from already stated unlikelihood, I'm certain not. Brady used an abbreviation of my name - NRA has the full correct name.

You sir are evil..... ;)

Someone has too much time on his hands... however if everyone did this, we would collectively solve the issue of junk mail.

Well, that should take care of Brady's funding. We all sign up for their mailing list, and send them 50lbs each... :43:

No, not me, just something I found on the internets. Apparently this used to be the case, but under current regulations business reply cards can't be used as shipping labels and the package is considered to be 'waste'.

I hope they send me one asking for money so I can wipe my *** with it and mail it back to them.

I have been known to mail back pieces of lettuce or similar items if especially offended by something with a reply envelope. pretty much anything that will fit in the envelope and is ready to be discarded from the fridge will work.

I hope you realize these things don't get dropped in Sarah and Jim's office - they go to some poor minimum wage drone who opens and sorts mail all day, probably working for a firm that does that stuff by contract.

Using their pre-paid postage is about the best one can do. There's no useful result to being creative (though I'll admit creativity can be its own reward!) because it never gets past the service bureau.

Not to hijack an otherwise lighthearted thread but I think this speaks to one of the differences between the tactics of the right and the tactics of the left.

The left goes out of their way to make it uncomfortable for those who would be otherwise indifferent to a cause or issue feel uncomfortable supporting their opposition even in a passive manner. Look at people who have lost their jobs over supporting prop 8 because the employer was uncomfortable with the potential for boycotts or protests. Some of those people, or just others who witnessed it might think twice about supporting the same cause next time.

Think of all the fear that is built up in people over various issues related to firearms. How many more potential gun owners are there out there who haven't made a purchase because of FUD spread by the media. Have you every met a pro 2nd amendment individual who didn't want to join the NRA because they think of them as "too extreme."

Maybe if enough people wiped themselves and sent back the mailing the minimum wage drone would decide it isn't worth it to process mail for the Brady campaign, maybe the firm would turn down the contract and they would have to process their own soiled mail.

Or maybe we would have a story on CNN about all the evil gun nuts who are flinging their own poo thousands of miles by way of the USPS.

Don't use a tire... its likely the libs will tell the cops you were mailing toxic waste without a permit.
