So I needed to get out and fish to start the New Year off right. The three of us headed to a nice little river that is great for brown trout. It was nice to see that the river had thawed a bit since the last time I was there. We found a nice spot and this was the result.

Nice catch, that must be some coooold water. Is it one of those catch and release streams? I find it much more difficult to practice catch and release when hunting ducks. They just sit there and don't move, maybe I'm handling them too much.

Wow..... those are great! My wife has a recipe for stuffed trout wrapped in grape leaves that's just begging to be used on such beauties as those.

Thanks guys, yes it is a C&R river so all browns have to be returned unharmed. However because of this rule there are a lot of browns to catch and they are not small.
