Despite the cold I decided to go check out the O with my buddy Chris. When we left the temp was in the low 20's here in Boise. Well unfortunately when we started up the canyon we noticed that the river was frozen over. Well it looks like the recent cold spell was enough to freeze the river. We decided to check out a few of the riffles that should be ice free. Long story short this was the first time that I have been skunked this year (well except the for the time I fished FF down in CA). I took some pics of the area so enjoy.

That place is great in the spring, summer and fall. It usually is pretty good in the winter as well. But it has been cold enough this year to freeze it over. Two of my friends were there last weekend and the water was still open and fished well. I have only fished this river 13 times this year and this was the first time I was skunked on it.

I miss the trout fishing in Idaho. I used to fish the Snake River when I lived in Idaho Falls. We also snowmobiled into Yellowstone and fished it one winter.
