View Full Version : Installed Troy rear sight, but i have a question on instructions

Directions say, "Apply thread locking compound on the exposed threads and replace clamp and tighten while pushing sight forward againt cross slot." now i didnt use any of this stuff i just bolted it to the rear.

Its something I would do in the future whenever you pass a home improvement store, just go pick up some blue thread locker. Blue doesn't require heat to remove it, Red does.

how much do i put on it? and i put it where the clamps go right?

you put it on the existing threads so that when you tighten the screw/bolt the threadlock will go into the threaded area (it acts like a sealant). you won't need much, use the blue and you'll see when it comes out (kinda watery).

it's the blue stuff... not on a gun or sight but you get the idea... put it on the threads that are gonna go into the threaded area and tighten as normal.
