I'm wondering if it's possible to apply the MonsterMan Grip approach with a bullpup. I think it would look something like.

Think it would fly or still count as a pistol grip? There's also a possibility of locking the magazine in.

May be better off then with some sort of mag lock. Is there one available that will work?

The 30" OAL requirement kind of defeats the whole Bullpup design intention.

The RFB Sporter model has a 32" OAL.

The MSAR STG556 w/ a 20" barrel is a little less than 32" - I would assume an AUG would be the same. Seems pretty compact to me especially w/ a 20" barrel and the commensurate better ballistics compared to a 16"....
