Sent these to Overland in July, the receivers are consecutively numbered NDS-1 and the kits were 2 non-G romy and 2-G's all are matching- 1973 (no lighting cuts) , 1978, 1980 and 1981.

That is over $200 in Monsterman Grips!!!

I am a very happy camper, and very glad I planned ahead!

I want to thank Gary at Overland for doing top notch work, the attention to detail is amazing, plus he is a heck of a guy to talk with.

JULY!! Are you serious!

I sent my kit in the first week of Oct... Gary said he was running 7-8 weeks behind. This sounds more like he is running 24 weeks behind.

Oh well. Mine will get here when it gets here. Looks like the wait will be worth it.

* Disassembly of the part numbers matching kit.
* Reassembly on the U.S. receiver with www.ak-builder.com correct metric swelled neck rivets.
* Sandblast all metal parts down to bare metal with #70 aluminum oxide media.
* Parkerize (manganese phosphate) all metal parts ( including screws, buttplate, and sling swivel).
* Paint all of the metal parts with your choice of; GUNKOTE, Moly Coat, or DURACOAT.
* Glassbead axis pins and all springs (sear, hammer, and recoil spring/guide) with #70 glass bead media for a shinney, new, low friction finish.
* Strip the old finish off the wood and apply 4-6 coats polyurethane ( available stains include natural, "Romy G" medium brown, and "Russian Red").
* Adjust all metal and wood parts for proper fit and alignment.
* Check the headspacing.
* Install complementary Red Star axis retaining plate.
* Test fire as "Final Acceptance Test" with 30 rounds in a rapid fire technique.

Very nice, wish I had the patience to wait like that. So do the MMG allow you to run a 30r ounderd on those or just a 10 rounder with no bullet button? Not an AK guy, or should I say more like an AK n00b :)

I can run my old 30's all day long! I learned patience with many many purchases with the CMP... :)
