Hello to all,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience buying from Model I Sales??? I placed an order for a chrome bolt assembly complete and asked for a second day delivery. So far no e-mail received they did it. I'm expecting it to arrive Wednesday. Is this possible from them???

I and a business associate bought M1S uppers. Both need serious gunsmithing to have sites anywhere close to on target.

Some people get lucky. However I think this is a "you get what you pay for" situation.

I've heard lots of bad things about Model 1 products. I can't speak to them, because I've never ordered any of thier stuff, but I've never heard anything good.. I'm a firm believer that "rolling the dice" is never a good thing with firearms.. Hope things work out for you..

One thing I noticed on their product mailing. Whether you order a single muzzle brake or 5 brakes, gas tubes, forends and sights - it all comes in the same 10" X 10" box. Haven't noticed them as being all that quick, I usually get a ship confirmation about 3 days after I order on the net which leads me to believe that no matter what, it takes minimum 3 days for them to process.

I ordered a barrel in .300 Fireball with a custom barrel thread. Shipped out in a week (exactly on time), and it turned out to be a very accurate shooter.

That's my only experience, but it was a positive one.

I have a 204 Ruger upper from them that functions well and is very accurate.

They are fine. Not top notch, but... hey, plenty good for the $.

I had a Model 1 22LR Upper and it was great, well made and very reliable.

I bought two complete kits from them in '06. Have not had a single issue with either.
One is a standard, nothing special 20" A2 (it was for sale, LOL) with NM sights. over 2K through it and it is accurate and reliable.

The other kit is one of their Varmint kits in 20" also, A3 flat top with an Ace skeleton stock. I added a 4x16x40 illuminated mil-dot scope and it is a total tack driver. No issues at all and also very reliable.

Their shipping was also hassle free and they shipped when promised (unlike JT distributing that did nothing but jerk me around and never ship).

Overall I found them to be the best "bang for the buck".

Ordered an M-4 kit from them almost three years ago - only thing I had to fix was the roll pin hole on the bolt stop lever (too small). Opened it up slightly with a carbide dremel bit which allowed it to pivot freely on the pin. Overall, happy with their product and service - a fun and accurate gun to shoot. :)

A buddy has one of their 24" varmint uppers with stainless bull barrel, and that thing impressed me the one time I used it -- it was shooting 1MOA for 10 rounds at 100 yards -- scoped, yeah, that's not exceptional but it could have done better because I was popping them off pretty quick and not trying too hard.

i ordered a M4 kit from them and no issues with shipping to Iraq no less. the only thing that went bad on me was my extractor after that no problems at all.

I bought a used 7.62 x 39 model 1 sales upper. The upper eats wolf classic with no hiccups while running full c-products 10 round magazines.

My 5.56 upper is solid. I would recommend.

Thank you all for responding to my issue/question. I tried to call them twice today and was met with a busy signal. I guess they're frantic in trying to meet their dead-lines. Unless I get something over the internet I guessing that my product will arrive tomorrow by UPS as I asked for 2nd Day Blue Label. Besides that so far no indciations are that they're out of stock of the item I want.

Still what do you think?

stormy clothing,

I guess I have no choice but to wait OR e-mail them to cancel. Again the website indicates they have my item in stock BUT I've received no e-mail from them that they're at least processing my order. I'm hoping for a Wednesday delivery from them so since that's tomorrow I guess it's a 50/50 chance.

I'll try to call them again tomorrow and see.

Thanks for everyone's imput.

Hello boy n' girls,

I just recieved my nice chrome bolt carrier assembly just in time for my cap busting day on friday. Since my local range in Highland is closed until Friday it was worth the wait as far as I can see. Tomorrow I'll oil it up and shove it in my new rifle.

These reviews aren't what you would have seen if you asked the same question a year ago. Hopefully they are doing some better QC now. I am surprised Bill hasn't stopped by to drop his $0.02 yet. :51:
