View Full Version : Since folks are busy painting

I'd thought I'd get in on the holiday decorating.
So I painted my STG-2000C.

Here's pic of what it was before (stock photo):

Added regular stock, SAW-type grip, and side-mount rail. Then painted it FDE with Krylon and voila!

Not bad. Now all I need is a reddot scope or something.

looks much better IMO-
did you degrease or prime at all?
Does it look durable?

Degreased/scrubbed with SimpleGreen. That's it. Then 4 coats of fde krylon.
Durable? Don't know yet. I'll let you know in a few months. :)

Looks great - but try Rustoleum's Dark Taupe as well. I used the Krylon Camo Fusion in Khaki (which I believe yours is), and then tried Rustoleum's Dark Taupe. You be the judge on how it came out:

Just a word of warning but you may want to keep solvents very far away from that kind of paint job... So be careful when you clean

I want to see all the guns out there that have been painted and used for 6 months. Should be interesting to see how they hold up. Of course in the 6 months they should have been taken out to shoot and cleaned at least 4 times.
