Anything wrong with a 4 position stock as opposed to 6 position? Money is tight and I found a pretty cheap 4 position stock so I wondered if it would be "good enough" for now.

Thanks:)

They're fine, just not the newest fad

The only thing that you're not going to get with a 4 position stock is the extra two positions. May not sound like much, but if the 2nd position is too short, and the 3rd is too long, maybe the 6 position stock would have been better :P

I am a tall/long guy so I need the 6 position stock.

The stock itself is the same. The difference is in the buffer tube. You can always just switch out that one part later if need be.

But yeah, the only difference is the positions on the 4-pos are further apart than on the 6-pos because there are 2 less of them :) That's it!

That wouldn't matter. It's the spacing that's different, not the length of travel.

Which means you can also drill a few more positions for the locking pin...a drill press is helpful, but this is not a job where you need a journeyman machinist;)

Yep.
Take that 4 position and add 3 more detents.
You will be the only guy at your range with a 7 position stock.
