So I decided to start customizing my flickr account and joined groups, one of them being the AR-15 owner group. Check out what this guy did

Interesting attempt. Props for originality. But with a little refinement it could look very sweet, I think.

Interesting. I wonder how it balances, the carry handle looks to be too far forward making it uncomfortable to carry if you were actually using the handle.

I bet in balances nicely with a heavier than light contour barrel. I kinda like it.

In one of the photos in the set he says the carrying handle has a 3x optical

That mount doesn't look too sturdy. Points for thinking out of the box, though.

I really like it. cool build if your going for looks. Not sure I would trust that carry handle if the SHTF.

LOL people will bolt all kinds of unneeded, heavy crap to their AR, won't they? He's still missing the cup holder though.

If that handguard he has is a tube that free floats the barrel, which is suppossed to help accuracy, then why have a handguard stuck to it which will affect the barrel?

To help regain the accuracy lost from attaching the HK handle? Suppose he has a standard handguard AND that monstrosity on there... ;)

You're missing the point. The handle attaches to the gas block, which touches the barrel, so he's no longer free floating.

It's too kluged.

You guys are missing the point. It's an aesthetic add on, who cares how it functions. You pull the trigger, it goes bang, bad guy falls, isn't that good enough?

It takes an American product and makes it look Belgian ...

Yes... nothing screams "Belgium" like an HK carry handle.

Oh, I get it... and threw out another dumb idea...

The whole thing is so cobbled together and looks half-assed. I hope he won the bet.
