Thinking of getting a GSG-5. Please post up some reviews especially reliability issues with them. Thanks.

I've only shot about 100 rounds out of mine - all of it has been the Federal bulk pack stuff and only had one FTE. It was actually the very first round I shot and my heart sank when it didn't eject that round, but I cleared it and moved on. Not one FTF or FTE since - I say buy one, it's a VERY fun gun to shoot! There's a lot of good info on this other forum (http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=6&f=41) - if you want a lot more reading material...

My buddy (SolidSnake87) has one and all has been great; It is a real blast to shoot.

Except for the extractor spring. It has gotten caught in the bolt once or twice.

I have personally put several 1000 rounds down range with almost zero issues. Maybe a FTE every now and then but thats it.

Love mine. Accurate, don't have any off the issues i've read about in other threads. I can grip my rifle by the magazine well without feeding issue. In about 1000rnds I have maybe had 3 FTF (ammo related),a couple FTEs but those were because the collapsible stock I have on mine blocks the ejection port a little bit. My only complaint are the magazines, they are extremely sensitive to dirt.

I have one and it shoots circles around my Spikes ST-22. Accruate rifle with no FTF or FTE.

Here is my GSG-5.

Here is a target from my last visit to the range.

If you can find one with a reasonable mark up - Get it - You won't regret it -

We've pulled about a dozen rifles and pistols right out of the box at the range and they've always ran w/o any issues.....

No lube...no pre-cleaning...

A fun rifle to shoot and gets a lot of attention......;)

Mine has been flawless with some less than desirable ammo. Haven't cleaned in it thousands of rounds, lots of fun to shoot but lately, I've been shooting my .22LR conversion AR more (which has also been flawless)...the nice thing about the .22LR AR is the familiarity of operation...

Reliability issues - I put about 3,000 rds through it and I am starting to get 2-3 light strikes from every 10 rounds I put through it. When I first got it, it worked flawlessly.

I bought one & now I don't shoot my 10/22 or Feather AT-22 anymore. I was very surprised at how accurate it is. Only about 300 rds through it currently. Mine likes the Aguila super dooper high velocity stuff (1750 fps). No FTE with that ammo.

I have one from the original shipment in January. I have lost count of the number of rounds I have fired after I got to 13k. I had 3 failures in the first k's of rounds and those I attribute to holding the magazine and a improperly cleaned rifle.
If I had to guess it would say that myself and friends have put easily another 3-4k through my rifle without a hitch. Several Calgunners had a chance to shoot it during a meet and greet and it shot great.

I hate to say it (as a die hard 10/22 fan) but I'm seriously considering one of these. I've already turned both of my 10/22's into target rifles, so I'm missing something that I can just plink with.

Considering the characteristics of the pistol, I can't imagine why it wouldn't be legal with a 10 round mag, but I may be wrong.

How are you able to purchase the GSG-5? Is it considered a rifle or pistol? If a pistol, it is not listed as an approved handgun for sale in CA

It's a rifle - and is legal in CA - the definitions of an assault weapon (w/ respect to rifles) only apply to centerfire rifles and the GSG is rimfire.

I own one - IT IS AWESOME!! It's fun to shoot at 50 yards; 100yd+ is a crap shoot though.

i picked my gsg up for $495 (+dros and tax= $560ish)... but mind you, this was before the election and i've heard that some places are charging way above MSRP so $600 doesn't sound too bad.

get it, they're a ton of fun and so cheap to shoot. i love it!!

I was thinking about getting one but .22 isn't too much fun for me. I mean I can shoot up to my waist for a couple bucks but its not in my top calibers to shoot.
